Midrox Insurance Company Launch Day

What a great Company and great people! We are pleased to have Midrox Insurance Company in Roxbury chose CMS to create a new and more functional website for them. The site launched today, January 27, 2011.

The new site allows users to learn about Midrox and all the insurance products offered and find a local agent from their very large network. We are using a feature-rich mapping program with awesome mash-ups and individual maps for each agent. This is our favorite upgraded functionality of the site. The site will also soon allow insureds to make a payment on-line; just waiting for the payment acceptor and it is ready to go.

Midrox has some cool history in our area and is staffed people real people that care-just like it used to be in the good old days! From Midrox’s website – “Midrox was chartered on May 26, 1939 by Chauncey F. Morse and his son, Harrison C. Morse. The company was then known as the Midrox Co-Operative Fire Insurance Company. Shortly after World War II, Lindon B. Morse, another son of Chauncey Morse, became involved in the insurance business. During the course of the next several years, up to the present, Midrox merged with several other similar but smaller companies, retaining the name of Midrox, which is shortened from Middletown-Roxbury Co- Operative Fire Insurance Company. In July of 1987, two of the smaller companies in the office, the Delhi Insurance Co. and the Andes Mutual Fire Insurance Co. were merged with the Midrox Co-Operative Fire Insurance Company, and in June of 1988, the remaining company, the Bovina Co-Operative Fire Insurance Company merged. The surviving corporation became known as the Midrox Insurance Company.

The Midrox Insurance Company has been located at many locations within Roxbury, including Chauncey Morse’s residence, the Golden Seal Building, a former church, former butcher shop and the new location, south of the village.

Midrox boasts a friendly and cooperative staff coupled with excellent claims service.”

New Bed and Breakfast-Moonshadows and Memories

moon

May 7 UPDATE: Today is the official opening of Moonshadows and Memories! A huge congrats to Walter and Marion. Also, check out the May 5th Edition of the Walton Reporter as they covered the Open House held on May 1.

The newest member of the CMS family is Moonshadows and Memories Bed and Breakfast in Hamden, NY. This is one spectacular place folks, and is slated to open on May 7, 2010.

The Innkeepers, Walter and Marion Velechko, have spent the last 9 nine years lovingly restoring this 1903 house to bring it back to its glory. The Bed and Breakfast is in the Chambers House on Main Street in the center of town.

The home was built by John Chambers Esq., a prominent Hamden business man. Chambers’ father and uncles emigrated from Scotland in the 1800’s and became a very important and influential family in the area.

This spectacular home is rich with history and is filled with Hamden and Delaware County memorabilia. Yet, when you walk through the large, original, double front doors you do not feel like you just entered “GrandMa’s house.” This is a perfect example of history meeting modern and even though we live close by,  we want to spend a weekend in this charming Bed and Breakfast!

Check back for updates and website launch date – we are almost finished and wait until you see this place!

Congratulations Walter and Marion and thank you for choosing CMS to embark on this wonderful adventure with you.
